Introduction
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a federally mandated committee responsible for review of all research involving human participants for compliance with the federal regulations.
Policy Statement
The IRB must review any research involving human subjects prior to data collection, including proposals to gather
data from subjects for theses, dissertations, and other student projects to assure compliance with the appropriate
federal and ISU regulations and guidelines.
Principal Investigators (PIs) are responsible for assuring compliance with all requirements regarding the use of
human subjects in research.
