Performance Appraisal - P&S

Introduction
The policy applies to ISU employees in the Professional and Scientific (P&S) > Policy Statement
Periodic performance appraisals are to be conducted at least annually between the supervisor and the employee to give both an opportunity to assess employee performance of the past year and to establish performance objectives. Such interaction should be a continual part of the supervisor-employee relationship.
A new employee shall undergo an initial written appraisal at the end of three months, followed by additional appraisals at other appropriate times.
A record signed by the employee and supervisor that the appraisal occurred will be maintained by the department of Human Resource Services. Performance appraisal documentation will be maintained by the employee's department.
